The Harvard diving teams welcome a new volunteer assistantcoach, Stacie Powell, to the staff for the 2008-09 season.

Powell, a native of Great Britian, is a visiting scholar fromthe University of Southampton in England. She is studying for theyear at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.

Powell competed in the finals in two events at the 2008Olympics in Beijing, placing eighth in the synchronized platformand 10th in the individual platform.

A veteran of several international competitions, Powell placedninth in the 10-meter synchro at the 2007 World Championships and13th in the platform at the 2008 European Championships. She placedninth in the platform at the 2008 FINA Diving World Cup.
