Daniella Silva

Daniella Silva joined Harvard Women's Tennis as an assistant coach in July 2022 after serving for two years as a volunteer assistant coach at Baylor where she earned her master's degree in sports pedagogy in the Spring of 2022.

While in Waco, Texas, Silva helped the Bears achieve a No. 8 national ranking in 2021, and assisted them in reaching the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament in both 2021 and 2022. In two seasons, Baylor went 40-14 overall in dual matches and posted a 14-4 record in Big 12 action.

Prior to her stint at Baylor, Silva worked in events management at Tennis British Columbia, the provincial tennis branch of Tennis Canada. While working for Tennis British Columbia she handled the operations and logistics of all major tournaments hosted in British Columbia, including Canadian Nationals, ITFs, and the Stanley Park Open.

As a player, Silva won one professional doubles tournament and competed collegiately at Santa Clara. At SCU, the two-year team captain received All-West Coast Conference honors three times and served as the president of the Broncos' Student Athlete Advisory Committee her senior year. Silva graduated from Santa Clara in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.

Off the court, the Canadian-Portuguese native enjoys watching live sports, traveling, and spending time with her family. She will be joined in Cambridge by her husband, Andrew Melendez.
