Andrea Lapointe joined Harvard Athletics in a full-time capacity in August of 2013, and currently serves as Senior Associate Director of Athletics, a post she has held since Sept. 2023. She previously served at the Crimson's Associate and Assistant Director of Athletics, overseeing recreation and student-athlete development.

Lapointe oversees the department’s broad offerings in recreation, club sports and intramurals, all of which has a direct impact on 75 percent of the university’s undergraduate population in terms of its opportunities to engage in health and wellness activities. Harvard currently has 65 club sport programs and an intramural program that features more than 3,000 participants per year. The facilities that are utilized for recreation purposes, meanwhile, attract over 500,000 visitors annually.

Lapointe, additionally, works directly with the men's and women's swimming, men's and women's water polo teams as their program manager. Lapointe launched the Crimson360 program in 2018, which helps guide student-athletes in leadership, life skills, community building and professional development. She was previously Assistant Director of Athletics with the events staff, assisting with internal and external events, camps and clinics.

Prior to her time with the events unit, Lapointe served as Harvard's Travel and Operations Coordinator, where she coordinated travel for all of the Crimson’s 42 varsity sports, scheduling of all athletic facilities and assisted with event management. She served as an Athletic Event and Facility Operations Intern at Harvard during the 2012-13 academic year, where she acted as the primary event manager for field hockey, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s volleyball, softball, track and field and wrestling, while also assisting with football operations. Lapointe also coordinated schedules for 17 athletic facilities, served as lead manager of four facilities and was the main point-of-contact and on-site director for non-Harvard events including the Major League Lacrosse Championship.

A graduate of Ithaca in 2012 with a Master’s of Science in sports management, she served as a graduate assistant in the athletic department where she managed 160-plus home sport events, directed all swimming competitions and advised and oversaw the student athlete advisory committee. Lapointe also provided support during the NCAA Division III women’s soccer and women’s basketball regional tournaments hosted by Ithaca.

Lapointe, who resides in Brighton, Mass., completed her bachelors of arts in media studies with a minor in business administration from the University of Southern Maine in 2011.
