Bekzod Abdurakhmonov

Former Clarion All-American Bekzod Abdurakhmonov has served the Crimson over multiple stints as an assistant coach. He enters his fourth overall season with the program in 2026-27.

During the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, Abdurakhmonov helped coach Jimmy Harrington to his second straight appearance at the NCAA Championships. Harrington also collected Honorable Mention All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy accolades as a senior.

Representing Uzbekistan on the national stage, at the 2016 Olympics he beat former gold medalist Jordan Burroughs of the United States 11–1, but lost in the bronze-medal match to Jabrayil Hasanov of Azerbaijan. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's 74 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

In his first season with Harvard in 2014-15, three wrestlers garnered All-Ivy honors, including David Ng who earned a spot at the NCAA Championships at heavyweight. During the 2015-16 campaign, three grapplers earned bids to NCAAs, including Devon Gobbo (165 lbs.) who won the EIWA title, and five team members received All-Ivy League selections.

Abdurakhmonov, who is the brother of assistant coach Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov, was a two-time NCAA qualifier at 165 lbs., finishing third as a senior in 2012 to earn All-America honors. A Uzbekistan national team member, Abdurakhmonov has ranked in the top five in the world in his weight class.

He won the bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships and earned the title at the 2014 Asian Games. A 2016 Olympic qualifier who advanced to the bronze-medal match in Rio, Abdurakhmonov was the 2014 Dave Schultz Memorial International runner-up.

During his career at Clarion, Abdurakhmonov won two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships at 165 lbs., and placed twice at the Midlands Championships (fourth and second).
