Carlton Hall

Carlton Hall begins his fourth year as an assistant coach atHarvard in 2010. He will continue to work with the Crimson'sdefensive line and will recruit the southern United States with afocus on Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Louisiana,New Mexico and Mississippi.

Additionally, Hall serves as the Crimson's professional liaisonand works closely with professional scouts. Hall's familiarity withthe professional scene has been valuable to the Crimson withDesmond Bryant ’09 entering his second year as an impactplayer in the NFL with Oakland.

Hall brings experience at the highest levels of collegiate andprofessional football to the Crimson. He most recently served asthe defensive line coach at Georgetown, after three seasons as anassistant in various capacities at Columbia.

Hall worked with Columbia's linebackers after the 2005 seasonand oversaw that position through the 2006 spring workouts. He wasthe Lions' defensive line assistant during the 2005 season andserved as wide receivers coach for the 2003 and 2004 campaigns.

Hall spent the summer of 2004 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aspart of the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship, where he worked withthat team's wide receivers and assisted in offensive qualitycontrol.

He spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Asheboro (N.C.)High School, including three as the school's defensivecoordinator.

Hall enjoyed a standout playing career as an undergraduate,earning All-Southeastern Conference honors at Vanderbilt. He was afour-year letterwinner and three-year starter for the Commodores,leading the SEC in tackles as a senior. He received the footballteam's Wade-Looney Award for perseverance and was chosen to play inthe prestigious East-West Shrine Game in San Francisco as asenior.

Hall went on to sign a free agent contract with the San DiegoChargers in 1998.

Hall graduated from Vanderbilt in 1998 with a degree in humanand organizational development. He is an active member of theAmerican Football Coaches Association and the Black CoachesAssociation.
