Chris Cahill was named an assistant coach of men's soccer atHarvard on June 4, 2008.
During the 2009 season, Cahill guided the Crimson goalkeepers toa goals-against average of 0.83, allowing only 15 goals in 18games. Harvard keepers also recorded nine shutouts on the season,en route to the program's 14th Ivy League title.
In his first year with the Crimson staff, Cahill helped theHarvard goalkeepers post seven shutouts, including six by freshmanAustin Harms. Harms was sixth in the nation and first in the IvyLeague with a 0.48 goals-against average.
A two-time All-Big East goalkeeper at Notre Dame, Cahillcompleted his collegiate career with a stellar season in 2007,posting a 13-3-5 record with a 0.79 goals against average. Herecorded nine shutouts and was selected as the Big East Goalkeeperof the Week on three occasions. He led the Fighting Irish to theNCAA quarterfinal round after making five saves in a 2-0 win overSanta Clara, as he established a school record with his fourthcareer shutout during NCAA Championship play.
Cahill finished his career with a 39-16-9 record, includingaction in three NCAA tournaments, and was a Big East AcademicAll-Star.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Cahill graduated from Notre Dame in2007 with a degree in American Studies.
