Dr. Theodore is a native of Boston, and a graduate of both Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program. He served as the Chief Resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and later completed a fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Theodore's interests include foot, ankle and knee surgery, with a focus on sports-related injuries. He is a nationally recognized expert in the management of injuries in professional athletes and dancers, and he has treated some of the top athletes in the United States. Dr. Theodore is an expert in cartilage injuries, ligament injuries, and Achilles tendon problems. He has appeared on the Today Show, as well as various cable and local television programs. He has been featured in USA Today, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, Forbes Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Women's World, and National Public Radio.  He has been named a top orthopedic surgeon by Boston Magazine, Castle Connolly Medical and US News and World Report.

Dr. Theodore serves as the orthopedic foot and ankle consultant for both the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and was a member of the medical staff for the World Series and Super Bowl Championship Teams. He is also the foot and ankle consultant to the Boston Bruins, New England Revolution, and Boston Ballet. Dr. Theodore is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and is part of the Mass General Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
