Harvard University

Ethan Sebert was named Harvard’s Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance in April 2022. Sebert joins Harvard from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where he held the position of Associate Director for Compliance, focusing on student-athlete eligibility.

At Harvard, Sebert will help run all aspects of the department’s compliance efforts within Ivy League and NCAA rules and regulations.

Sebert joined Ole Miss in April 2019, working directly with the institution’s recruiting efforts. Prior to joining Ole Miss, Sebert worked in athletic compliance offices at Iowa State University and Yale University.

In 2015, Sebert earned his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School, where he also received a Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute as well as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate. In 2011, he graduated from the University of Iowa as a double major in Journalism/Mass Communication and Health/Sports Studies. During his time at Iowa, Sebert was a member of the Iowa wrestling team. Sebert is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association as well as the National Association for Athletic Compliance.
