Greg Shields

Greg Shields joined Harvard University as its Athletic Facilities Operations Manager in Feb. 2023. Shields is involved in all aspects of the Crimson’s daily operational management, with an emphasis on Bright-Landry Hockey Center and other assigned facilities.
 
A native of nearby Quincy, Shields arrived in Cambridge from Northeastern University where he served as its lead Athletics Facilities Coordinator. During his time with the Huskies, which began in Dec. 2011, he was responsible for maintaining several athletics facilities, including Matthews Arena – home of Northeastern Hockey and Basketball, and overseeing gameday setup.
 
Prior to his time in Boston, Shields was Quincy Youth Arena’s building manager, ice technician and Olympia driver. In his role, he provided routine maintenance for the arena’s Olympia machine, while managing the ice rink’s facilities.
 
Before getting his start in athletics, Shields spent time working with Monadnock Mountain Spring Water and the Town of Nantucket’s Department of Public Works.
 
Shields resides in Quincy with his wife, Christine, and their children Mikey, Leah, and Matthew.
