Harvard University

Jeffrey Rowland is in his second season with the Harvard men'ssoccer team after being named a coaching assistant in May 2009.

In Rowland's first year with the Crimson, in which he served as avolunteer assistant coach, he helped Harvard to a 14-4-1 overallrecord and a 5-1-1 mark in the Ivy League, as the team won theconference title.  Harvard advanced to the third round of theNCAA tournament and had two players (Andre Akpan '09 and KwakuNyamekye '10) selected at  the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.

Rowland, who is also currently serving as a coach for the F.C.Greater Boston Bolts, most recently worked as a coach with the RioVista Youth from 2007-08, and an instructor at the University ofNew Mexico and Wilmington Hammerheads camps. From 2003-04, hecoached in a similar capacity at the Notre Dame soccer camp.

A 2005 finalist for the Missouri Athletic Club’s HermannTrophy, given to the nation’s top collegiate player, Rowlandwas a two-time All-America and Academic All-America honoree at NewMexico. He was the Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Yearin 2004 and a year later helped the Lobos place second at the NCAAtournament.

After graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree inmarketing from New Mexico in 2006, Rowland was drafted by Real SaltLake of Major League Soccer (MLS). In 2008, he signed with FCDallas of the MLS as well as the Wilmington Hammerheads of theUnited Soccer League.
