Montez Paschall joined Harvard Athletics in December, 2023, and serves as Assistant Director of Athletics - Community & Team Culture.
Paschall has extensive experience across the industry including time as the Associate Director of the Africana Center at Tufts University, as the Community Director of the Office of Housing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, as the Assistant Director of Residential Life at Amherst College, and as the Evening and Weekend Program Coordinator at Curry College.
Serving as the Associate Director of the Africana Center at Tufts from 2020-23, Paschall designed and implemented educational training grounded in an understanding of intersectionality and social justice, while also creating and evaluating student programming that fostered community, developed critical thinking, and promoted success. Paschall oversaw the center’s student staff, advised over 20 student groups, and spearheaded several initiatives to support students across all identities.
As part of his extensive background in residential life, Paschall acted as the Community Director in the Office of Housing at UMass Boston from 2018-20, as the Assistant Director of Residential Life at Amherst from 2015-18, and as the Evening and Weekend Program Coordinator at Curry from 2012-14.
At UMass Boston, Paschall collaborated with the Dean of Students office to provide social and academic support for first-year students, developed programming to foster student development, and helped establish departmental standards around equity and inclusion. Paschall’s time at UMass Boston built off his experience at Amherst and Curry, where he held similar roles in residential life that centered on supporting members of the residential community and training staff members in residential life to uphold those standards.
A 2011 graduate from Tufts with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, Paschall earned a Master of Science in Education in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
