Sean MacDonald joined Harvard athletics in October 2022, working within the recreation department as its graduate intramural coordinator.
MacDonald leads Harvard’s inaugural graduate intramural program and works with all 12 graduate schools as well as the Office of the Provost.
Originally from South Burlington, Vermont, he graduated from Bowdoin College in 2019 with a degree in economics, as well as government and legal studies. At Bowdoin, he competed in cross country and track and field where he served as team captain during the 2017 and 2018 seasons and was named an All-America performer at 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championship. After his time at Bowdoin, MacDonald completed his master’s degree in sports leadership from North Central College in 2021.
Before joining Harvard, MacDonald worked at Bowdoin as an administrative assistant in its track and field office (2016-19) and at Tufts University as an assistant track and cross country coach from 2019-22.
MacDonald currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
