BOSTON-Crystal Poland scored three goals to lead host Northeastern to a 6-0 defeat of the Harvard field hockey team Wednesday afternoon at Sweeney Field.

The Huskies vaulted ahead quickly, as Poland found the net barely a minute into the game. Northeastern brought the ball up the left side, and Poland scored following a pass from Meg Sweeney. She added a second score less than seven minutes later on a rebound at the left post. The Huskies added another rebound goal, off the stick of Carolyn Malloy, at the 15:12 mark. Nicola Graham, Poland and Malloy before the end of the half to take a 6-0 lead into halftime.

Freshman Cynthia Tassopoulos made six saves to shut out the Huskies after the break and totaled 11 saves for the game. Sophomore Georgia McGillivray made a defensive save late in the first half. The Crimson picked up its offense in the second half, but NU goalie Lizzie Priest made two saves to stop Harvard's best chance, with about eight minutes left. Priest first stopped a shot from the left by junior Chloe Keating and then saved McGillivray's penalty-corner shot.

The Crimson returns home and resumes Ivy League play Saturday against Brown.
