POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- The Harvard women's water
polo team dropped its final non-conference match, 10-8, to Marist.
The Crimson moves to 11-9 on the season heading into Northern
Divison play. The Red Foxes earned their seventh win of the year.
Harvard trailed 5-2 after the first quarter and 7-4 at halftime.
Marist increased its lead to 9-4 going into the fourth period. The
Crimson stepped on the gas in the final stanza, outscoring the Red
Foxes 4-1. The comeback bid fell short as Marist walked away with a
10-8 victory.
Freshman Aisha Price paced the offense with a hat trick in the
game. Sophomore Shannon Purcell buried two markers in the match
while classmates Ita Barton-Kettleborough, Devan Kennifer and
Monica Zdrojewski tallied a goal each. Second-year netminder Laurel
McCarthy made five saves in the contest.
The Crimson kicks off its Northern Division schedule as it hosts
Brown, April 7, at Blodgett Pool.
