CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior attackman Dean Gibbons of
the Harvard men's lacrosse team has earned a spot on the
United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)
All-America team, as he garnered honorable mention status, the
USILA announced Thursday morning.
Gibbons, Harvard's first All-American since 2006, also
earned New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA)
All-New England and All-Ivy League second team honors this
spring. A native of Garden City, N.Y., Gibbons led Harvard
with 41 points, notching 27 goals and handing out a team-best 14
assists. He also tallied six man-up goals and stood second in
the Ivy League in points and fifth in goals. Gibbons averaged
3.42 points per game, as he ranked 21st in the nation in
scoring.
Gibbons scored multiple goals in nine of 12 games, including six
straight contests to conclude the season. He tallied a
season-best five in the season-opening win against Canisius Feb. 26
and added a four-goal effort in a victory at Holy Cross March
6.
A two-time NEILA All-New England and All-Ivy choice, Gibbons has
amassed 96 points during his career on 62 goals and 34
assists.
