The Particulars
The Harvard women's volleyball team opens its Ivy League schedule as it travels to Hanover, N.H., to take on Dartmouth Friday, Sept. 24, in a 7 p.m., matchup.

The History
The Crimson and the Big Green have met 56 times, dating back to 1981, and Harvard holds an overall series lead of 42-14. The Crimson dropped a pair of matches to its Ivy rival last season, but had won four of six meetings prior to last season.

Last Time Out
Harvard met some stiff competition at the Northwestern Invitational last weekend, as it dropped a trio of 3-0 matches over the course of the tournament. Mikaelle Comrie led the Harvard attack over the weekend, compiling 18 kills in three games and being named to the all-tournament team.

Scouting Harvard
The Crimson enters its Ancient Eight opener with a 2-9 overall record, having dropped its last six contests. Taylor Docter leads all hitters with 81 kills on the season and a 2.19 kills/set average. Sandra Lynne Fryhofer is second on the team with 65 kills and Comrie is averaging 2.00 kills/set on the season.

Natalie Doyle (181) and Beth Kinsella (118) each have over 100 assists on the season while Docter and Jennifer Martin lead the team with nine service aces apiece. Defensive specialist Christine Wu is averaging close to 4.5 digs/set and has a team-high total of 170 on the season. Fryhofer (29) and freshman Teresa Skelly (27) lead Harvard in total blocks.  

Scouting Dartmouth
The Big Green enters the Harvard matchup with an 8-2 overall record. Dartmouth started the season on a roll, capturing seven of its first 10 matches before falling in two of its last three. Dartmouth compiled a 1-2 record last weekend at the UNH Invitational, topping Rutgers and falling to Sacred Heart and host New Hampshire.

Madeline Bard enters the matchup at the Big Green's top hitter, with 147 kills on the year and a 4.08 kills/set average. Annie Villanueva is second on the team with 102 kills and has one of the best kill percentages on the squad at .321. Amber Bryant tops the Big Green with 210 digs (5.83 digs/set) and Elisa Scudder leads Dartmouth with 30 total blocks on the season.

Harvard will take on its final non-conference opponent of the season as it travels to Durham, N.H., to battle New Hampshire Sept. 28. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
