Harvard women's rugby lost a close battle to Princeton Sunday (Gil Talbot).
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard women's rugby team put together a strong effort Sunday, Oct. 5 at the West Windsor Fields at Princeton, but 19 second half points give the Tigers a 26-15 victory.
Princeton was the first to get on the board, going up 7-0 on a first half try, but the Crimson responded with two of its own. A long run gave the Crimson its first points and Claire Collins gave Harvard the lead heading into halftime with a try, making it a 10-7 contest.
After the intermission, Princeton scored the next two tries to regain the lead, going up 21-10. Harvard's continued playing tough throughout the half, getting within 21-15, but a late try by the Tigers brought the final score to 26-15.
The Crimson return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11, hosting Dartmouth at Cumnock Field at 11 a.m.
