Edosomwan was one of 13 Crimson to score at least two points Monday night (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's basketball team overwhelmed Saint Rose Monday night at Lavietes Pavilion, leading to an 84-38 victory for the Crimson to open the New Year.

Harvard's 46-point margin of victory was the team's largest under head coach Tommy Amaker, besting the previous high of 43 points sets against Daniel Webster on Dec. 27, 2008. The victory also marked the team's ninth-straight triumph at Lavietes Pavilion dating back to last season and improved the Crimson to 9-3 on the year.

Zena Edosomwan scored a career-high 14 points to lead the way, shooting 5-of-9 from the field, 4-of-6 from the line, and adding seven rebounds. Corbin Miller turned 12 points and knocked down four 3-pointers, with Zach Yoshor contributing 11 points in just six minutes off the bench thanks to a 3-of-3 performance from long range.

13 of the 15 Crimson who played scored at least two points, leading to a total of 50 points off the bench. Harvard also out-rebounded Saint Rose (5-9) by a margin of 49-32, with the 49 boards also representing a team-high under Amaker, while shooting 52.5 percent (31-59) on the night.

Monday's game served as Harvard's final tune-up before beginning Ivy League play Saturday, Jan. 10 at Dartmouth. The game can be seen live on the Ivy League Digital Network beginning at 7 p.m.

Harvard held Saint Rose without a field goal for the first 5:19 as it built an 8-2 lead. Chris Dorgler's 3-pointer ended the drought, however, and Sam Eckstrom's put-back made it a one-point game, 8-7. Edosomwan scored seven of the team's next nine points to regain a 17-10 edge, and Miller's 3 in transition extended the lead to 20-10.

Harvard maintained its 10-point margin until Agunwa Okolie's jumper with 4:50 to play ignited a 14-2 run to close the half. The stretch included a crowd-pleasing alley-oop from Siyani Chambers to Edosomwan, a pair of 3's from Miller, and a buzzer-beating alley-oop from Chambers to Okolie which gave the Crimson a 43-21 advantage.

Seven different players scored for Harvard in the first half as the team combined to shoot 51.7 percent (15-29) from the field.

Harvard kept its foot on the accelerator after the break, outscoring Saint Rose 41-17 in the second half to secure the 46-point victory, 84-38. The Crimson began the frame with a 17-1 stretch to push its lead to 60-22 on Matt Brown's jumper, and went on top 68-25 on Chris Egi's layup with 8:14 to play. Yoshor took over down the stretch, scoring all 11 of his points over the final 5:40.
