It's officially Spring Break! The last few weeks at Harvard have been pretty hectic with matches, midterms, and events like Housing Day.

Our season is year round with individual tournaments in the fall and dual matches all of second semester. We play non-conference matches up until April, which is when our Ivy season starts. We have played many different schools the last few weeks ranging from #5 Cal and #10 Stanford in California to unranked Stony Brook at home in the Murr. Thanks to the Friends Group of Harvard Women's Tennis we have an amazing trip planned in Las Vegas and California, ending the break with a match against Long Beach State.

Regardless of the fact that is was midterm season, my teammate Nikki Kallenberg '18 and I set aside some free time to go to a Maroon 5 concert at TD Garden (pictured) about a week and a half ago. We bought the tickets about 6 months ago, not realizing it would be midterm season, but it was something we were really looking forward to. Magic opened for Maroon 5, and Maroon 5 went on to play all their popular songs like Animals and Sugar. Of course Adam Levine was amazing to watch, he's such a great entertainer and really gets the crowd into it, so that was a fun little get away from campus.

Another great thing about Harvard is that there is always something to do around campus or in the city. It was just Restaurant Week in Boston and Cambridge and I got to try some delicious food right in Harvard Square. A few of my friends and I made reservations at Sandrine's Bistro on Holyoke Street. It's a small yet elegant French bistro. I recommend trying the duck breast with risotto and if you're feeling really adventurous you should go for the escargots (snail).

I'm hoping to be able to keep doing things like these around Harvard and in Boston, but there's actually a lot to explore right on campus, but maybe just not in the Harvard College area. This past week, my teammate Amanda Lin '16, our Assistant Coach Jarrod Epkey, and I went to the Harvard Business School for lunch. The business school is actually right across the street from the Murr and we heard that their dining hall was really good and that they had sushi, so we had to give it a try! It's only a two-minute walk from the Murr to the Spangler Center. Before getting our fresh sushi from the dining hall, we took a little tour of our own. The Spangler Center is known for being a valuable place where student interactions take place with 29 project rooms and a 350-seat auditorium.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Spring Breaks and that by the time we get back to Cambridge, all the snow will have melted and the weather will stay above freezing!
