Women's Soccer Falls to Brown, 1-0

BOSTON – Taking the field in a back-and-forth contest, Harvard women's soccer fell to Brown on Saturday afternoon at Ohiri Field, 1-0.

Junior Danielle Etzel and sophomore Kat Hess made key saves throughout the match, ending with three apiece. The Crimson tallied 12 shots offensively, including a team-high five from junior Leah Mohammadi.

Brown got on the board first with the only goal of the game when Jennifer Caruso found the back of the net in the 54th minute. Harvard had a series of attempts to close the game, but could not break the goal line.

Harvard Highlights:

  • Sophomore Meg Tveit hit the crossbar with an early attempt, and forced a tough save from the Brown goalkeeper in the second half.
  • Etzel and Hess split time in goal, making three saves apiece. Each netminder has 33 saves this season.


Game Notes:

  • Harvard now holds a 1-3 mark in Ivy League play.
  • The loss is the Crimson's first against Brown in the last nine meetings.

Harvard hosts No. 11 Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Jordan Field. The 1 p.m. kickoff will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
