CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Celebrating its 40th anniversary with nearly 100 alumna in attendance, Harvard women's soccer came up short against Princeton, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field.

Freshman Linda Liedel scored her second-career goal in the first half, assisted by classmate Maria DiMartinis and junior Niki Young. Both teams tallied six shots on goal, with the Tigers leading in overall shots, 14-7. Junior Leah Mohammadi led the Crimson with two attempts in the game.

Princeton struck first in the ninth minute, but Harvard responded in the 31st when DiMartinis lobbed a ball near the far post that led to Young poking it to Liedel for a turnaround shot that found the net. The score was her second this season, while DiMartinis and Young picked up their second and first assists of the year, respectively.

The Tigers responded with a late first half goal, and tacked on four more in the second half to secure the victory.

Harvard Highlights:

• Liedel scored her second-career goal, after scoring earlier this season against Seton Hall.
• Young provided her first-career assist, while DiMartinis tallied her second after assisting classmate Murphy Agnew's goal against Central Connecticut.

Game Notes:

• Harvard now holds a 1-4 mark in Ivy League play.
• The loss is the Crimson's first against Princeton in the last three meetings.

Harvard will celebrate its senior class on Saturday, Oct. 28 when Dartmouth visits Jordan Field. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on the Ivy League Network.
