PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard women's golf team posted another successful weekend, placing first among five Ivy League competitors and second overall at the Princeton Invitational. Harvard completed three rounds with a score of 919, plus 55. Anna Zhou again lead the Crimson with her second top 10 finish of the season, tying for sixth overall (76-75-75, +10).
Georgetown led the field, taking the top spots in both the team and individual competition. The Hoyas combined for a score of 905, plus 41. Harvard edged out Rollins College for the number two spot by just one stroke, the Tars accumulating a score of 920, 56 over par. Rounding out the top five were Princeton (923, +59) and Seton Hall (927, +63). As for the rest of the Ivy League competitors, Columbia ranked sixth and Penn, Dartmouth and Yale took eighth through tenth respectively.
Freshman Belinda Hu was also a strong performer for the Crimson, notching a top 20 finish (79-77-75, +15).
Round One Highlights
- Lita Guo ranked in the top five on par three holes, par five holes, total pars and birdies.
- Harvard led the field on par four holes, averaging 4.31 strokes per hole.
Round Two Highlights
- Freshman Jessica Luo carded a career low round of 75.
- Hole one proved to be the most challenging in the second round, with players averaging +0.71 strokes on the par four hole.
Round Three Highlights
- Michelle Xie led the team with seven birdies through three rounds.
- Harvard ranked second on par four and par five holes.
- The Crimson carded pars or better on 66 percent of holes.
What's Next?
Next on the fall slate, the women's golf team will compete at the Yale Women's Intercollegiate Oct. 6-8.
