NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Falling in a back-and-forth contest, Harvard women's soccer was stopped short by Yale, 3-0, on Saturday at Reese Stadium.

Harvard tallied 17 shots, including nine on goal, but could not break across the line on the day. Junior Leah Mohammadi tallied seven, while freshmen Lauren Raimondo and Murphy Agnew fired three apiece. Junior Danielle Etzel and sophomore Kat Hess split time between the posts, making three saves apiece.

Yale struck first in the 26th minute after a goal from Michelle Alozie. Harvard had a pair of tremendous scoring chances in the second half, with Raimondo and Agnew having great opportunities to find the game-tying goal, but the Yale goalkeeper made the necessary saves. The Bulldogs tacked on a pair of late goals to close out the game.

Harvard Highlights:

  • Mohammadi tallied seven shots, which matches her season-high.
  • Etzel and Hess each made three saves, which is one off of each netminder's season-best.

  • The loss snaps a nine-game unbeaten streak in the series that dates back to 2008.
  • Harvard posted its most shots in a game this season, 17, which bests the 16 it posted at Syracuse.
