No. 15/17 Men's Ice Hockey Rallies From Early Deficit To Beat Brown, 4-2

Box Score

Reilly Walsh extended his point streak to six games in Harvard's 4-2 win over Brown.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior goaltender Cameron Gornet stopped 28 shots in his first start since November, helping No. 15/17 Harvard men's ice hockey (15-8-3, 11-6-2 ECAC Hockey) rally from an early deficit for a 4-2 win over Brown (10-11-5, 7-7-5 ECAC Hockey) at Bright-Landry Hockey Center.

Senior forward Lewis Zerter-Gossage and sophomore defenseman Reilly Walsh scored second period goals to help Harvard even up the game at 2-2.

Then junior forward Nathan Krusko notched the game-winner at 2:01 of the third period, as a shot by first-year defenseman Jack Rathbone deflected off of his skate past Brown goaltender Luke Kania (33 saves).

Junior defenseman John Marino sealed the win with a one-timer off a feed from Frederic Gregoire at 17:47 to make it 4-2.

Harvard outshot Brown, 37-30, for the game, and finished the night 1-for-4 on the man advantage.

The Crimson found itself in an early hole despite hitting three posts in the first period and having numerous scoring chances. Two power play goals for Brown from Zach Giuttari (11:14) and Chris Berger (17:47) made it 2-0 Bears after 20 minutes of play.

But Harvard rallied in the second period, with Zerter-Gossage getting things started by redirecting a pass from Baker Shore into the net at 2:48 of the middle frame. Then with the Crimson on a 5-on-3 power play later in the period, Reilly Walsh's one-timer at 16:37 tied the game, giving Harvard new life heading into the third period.
