CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- First-year forward Nick Abruzzese was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today (Jan. 20).
Abruzzese continued his tear of late, recording three points (two goals, assist) on the weekend. The Slate Hill, N.Y. native recorded an assist in Harvard's 3-1 win over St. Lawrence on Friday night, and then notched his first multiple-goal game, scoring twice against No. 7 Clarkson. He now has six goals and 12 points in his last nine games.
Abruzzese, a Hobey Baker Award nominee, is second on the Crimson in scoring (eight goals, 13 assists), and leads all NCAA freshmen with an average of 1.24 points per game.
Harvard will hit the road to take on ECAC Hockey's Central New York pair, as the Crimson takes on Colgate and Cornell on Jan. 24-25, with both games beginning at 7 p.m. and airing on ESPN+.
