CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore defenseman Jack Rathbone and first-year forward Nick Abruzzese were both named CCM/AHCA Hockey All-Americans, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced tonight (April 11). Rathbone earned First-Team All-America honors, while Abruzzese earned a spot on the second team.

This marks the third time in the last four years, and the first time since 2017-18 that Harvard has had two players named All-Americans.

In total, Harvard men's ice hockey has earned 45 first and second team All-America selections in program history, with 30 players earning one of college hockey's highest honors.

Rathbone was named All-ECAC Hockey First Team and First Team All-Ivy League. He was one of the top offensive defensemen in college hockey this season, recording 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists) in 28 games. A native of West Roxbury, Mass, Rathbone was No. 3 in the nation among blueliners with 1.11 points per contest, leading all ECAC Hockey defensemen.

Abruzzese had a historic first season with the Crimson, recording 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) in 31 games, leading all NCAA first-years in scoring ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year. He was a First-Team All-ECAC Hockey and All-Rookie Team selection, and was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year. A native of Slate Hill, N.Y., Abruzzese had the best freshman season in the Ted Donato era at Harvard (2004-present), beating the mark previously established by Adam Fox (6-34-40) in 2016-17.
