Women's Basketball Welcomes Class of 2024

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Adding a talented and highly accomplished group of first-years to its roster, the Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith has announced its incoming Class of 2024: Kennedy Heath, Lindsey Lawson, Elle Stauffer, Harmoni Turner and Sabre Zimmer.

The five-member group hails from North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. The first-years will be joined by 12 returning letterwinners, including leading scorers Lola Mullaney, Tess Sussman and Maggie McCarthy. Looking ahead to the 2020-21 season, the Crimson will look to build upon its success in non-conference action after posting its best out of league record since the 2016-17 season.

Coach Delaney-Smith on Kennedy: "Kennedy is one of the most well rounded players in the class. She has a deadly three-point shot and her strong court IQ will help her make a smooth transition to college."

Four-year letterwinner and starter at Cazenovia … Served as captain senior year … Named to the Syracuse Post-Standard All-Central New York Small-School Girls Basketball First Team in 2019 and 2020 … Received First Team Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc. Section 3 honors in 2018 and 2019 … Named the 2019-20 NYSPHSAA Section 3 Class B Player of the Year … 1,000 career points scorer at Cazenovia … Holds the all-time leading scorer accolade at Cazenovia … Played AAU for I-90 Elite … Named to the First Team All-Gym RAT Tournament Team in 2018 and 2019 … Four-time NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete … Also a three-year letter winner in volleyball at Cazenovia … Member of the Owahgena chapter of National Honor Society from 2018-2020 … Member of Cazenovia Youth Athletic Association … Class of 2020 Vice President.

Coach Delaney-Smith on Lindsey: "Lindsey will come to Harvard with great shot blocking ability and will be a dominant prescence in the paint at both ends. Her instincts and versatility will be so valuable to us."

Elle Stauffer | Guard | 5-11 | Doylestown, Pa. | Germantown Academy
Four-year letterwinner at Germantown … Served as captain senior year … 2020 McDonalds All-American nominee … Named to the First Team All-Inter Academic League in 2018 and 2019 … Received 2019 All-State PA Second Team honors … Named to the 2019 Philadelphia Inquirer All South East First Team … PAISAA State Champion in 2019 and Semifinalist in 2017 … Played AAU for Philadelphia Comets … Also a four-year letterwinner in water polo at Germantown … Three-year Honor Roll recipient.

Coach Delaney-Smith on Elle: "Elle is athletic, has great size and can score on multiple levels. She has the potential to impact our team on both ends of the floor and will be a force to be reckoned with."

Harmoni Turner | Guard | 5-10 | Mansfield, Texas | Mansfield Legacy HS
Four-year letterwinner and starter at Mansfield Legacy … Served as captain of the basketball team … Named to the All-State, All-Region and All-District First Team … Named the team Most Valuable Player and Offensive/Defensive Player of the Year … Qualified for the 16U and 17U Junior Olympic Trials … Named to the Academic All-District and All-State Team … Holds 14 school records including most points, rebounds and assists in a career … Member of the 2,000 career points club … Played AAU for DFW Elite … Also a four-year letterwinner in Cross Country and Track at Mansfield Legacy … National Honor Society member … Magna Cum Laude … Member of the Key, Debate DECA and Ladies of Legacy clubs.

Coach Delaney-Smith on Harmoni: "Harmoni is a dynamic guard who can score on all levels and still gets the ball to her teammates in amazing ways. She is a crowd pleaser, but we are most excited that her work ethic matches her skill."

Sabre Zimmer | Guard | 5-6 | Saddle River, N.J. | Ramsey HS
Three-year letterwinner at Ramsey … Served as captain senior year … Won a gold medal with the U.S. National Maccabi team in 2017 … Holiday Tournament Champions at Ramsey in 2019-20 … 2017-18 County Champions, State Sectional Champions, State Group Champions and Tournament of Champions finalist at Saddle River Day School … Played AAU for NJ Gymratz and NJ Freedom … Also a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Ramsey … National Honors Society member … World Language Honors Society member … Four-year recipient of Academic High Honor Roll.

Coach Delaney-Smith on Sabre: "Sabre is a tough point guard who can create a lot of havoc in the defensive end. Because she is so resilient, we are very excited about her potential and what she can do at the college level."
