BROOKLINE, Mass. – First-year defender
Jade Rose headed home a golden goal in double overtime to give No. 19 Harvard University women's soccer a 2-1 victory over Northeastern University on Wednesday night at Parsons Field.
After the nationally ranked Crimson (5-0-1) went ahead in the 12
th minute, the Huskies (3-3-1) knotted the score in the 24
th minute prior to Rose securing the win for the visitors with her header at the 104:40 mark. Harvard remains undefeated through its first six games for the first time since 1996.
In the 105
th minute with 5:20 left in the second overtime, Rose came forward for a corner kick and re-directed a ball from fellow first-year
Hannah Bebar from the edge of the six-yard box into the right side of the goal.

Murphy Agnew opened the scoring at the 11:56 mark, sending a shot from the edge of the box into the lower left corner of the goal off assists from junior
Angela Caloia and first-year
Ainsley Ahmadian. Northeastern drew level at 23:12 off a penalty kick from Mikenna McManus. Harvard gained control in the latter stages of the contest, holding a 21-4 advantage in shots after halftime and a 15-0 edge in shots from the 84
th minute onwards.
Harvard Highlights
- First-year Jade Rose netted her second goal of the season and her first career game-winning goal.
- On the game winner, first-year Hannah Bebar notched her third assist of the season. She has involved herself in both of the team's golden goals in overtime this year after scoring the game winner against St. John's on Sept. 5.
- Senior Murphy Agnew scored her fourth goal of the season and her fourth goal in her last three games. She now has 17 career goals.
- Junior Angela Caloia notched her second assist of the season and now has a team-high 12 points on the year. She has tallied points in five of six games in 2021.
- First-year Ainsley Ahmadian registered her team-best fourth assist of the season. Ahmadian recorded a game-high five shots, including four shots on goal.
- For the match, Harvard held advantages in shots (30-8), shots on goal (19-4), and corner kicks (10-1). The 30 shots and 19 shots on goal both stood as season highs.
- From the 84th minute onwards, the Crimson held advantages in shots (15-0), shots on goal (10-0), and corner kicks (6-0).
- Harvard has played in overtime in three of its last four games and in double overtime in two of its last three contests. The Crimson improved to 2-0-1 in overtime games on the year.
- Junior goalkeeper Hannah Gardner made two saves in the first half while sophomore goalie Anna Karpenko stopped one shot across the second half and the overtimes.

- Harvard improved to 5-2-2 all-time vs. Northeastern.
- The Crimson continued their best start to a season since the team began the 1996 campaign with an 11-0-0 mark.
