WASHINGTON, D.C. – Closing out the Howard Invitational tonight, Sept. 18, the Harvard women's volleyball team (3-6, 0-0) battled American (5-6, 0-0) to a five-set victory. The Crimson erased a two-set deficit to rally and take the next three-straight sets for the win by set scores of 21-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-20 and 15-13.
For the second-straight day, sophomore
Katie Vorhies and junior co-captain
Jaimie Rao dominated on attack for the Crimson. The duo registered 16 and 15 kills, respectively. Sophomore

Corinne Furey tallied eight. Sophomore
Bella Almanza led the Crimson in assists tonight, dishing out 20. First-year
Rocky Aguirre nearly matched Almanza's 20 with 19 helpers on her own.
In the backcourt, first-year
Lindsey Zhang led the way with 18 digs. Almanza and Vorhies collected 10 digs a piece, giving Vorhies her third double-double of the season. At the net, sophomore
Ariana White put up six blocks, while Rao contributed five.
