DURHAM, N.H. – The Harvard men's soccer team (3-3-1) dropped a closely contested 3-1 decision at No. 6 New Hampshire (10-0-0) on Tuesday evening. Nineteen different players hit the field tonight, with
Cornelius Bencsik and
Alessandro Arlotti marking the scoresheet for the Crimson.
New Hampshire opened scoring in the eighth minute from right out front to take an early lead. Harvard wasted no time responding, less than five minutes later, when Arlotti passed to Bencsik who used a bounce off a Wildcat boot to fire the ball to the back of the net, evening the score less than 15 minutes in. Before the half was over, New Hampshire would re-take the lead from 15 yards out.
Harvard would hold New Hampshire to the one goal lead through the 71st minute before the hosts drew Nilsson off his line to extend the lead to 3-1.
