CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Women's track & field first-year Victoria Bossong and men's track & field junior Alexander Kolesnikoff have earned Harvard Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week presented by The Harvard COOP for the period of Jan. 18-23, Harvard announced on Wednesday.

Victoria Bossong, Women's Track & Field, First-year, Undeclared
Capturing her second win as a member of the Crimson, first-year Victoria Bossong earned a victory in the 600m with her 1:30.62 finishing time. Her finish is the fastest in Harvard school history, beating out Jade Miller's '17 previous record in the event of 1:31.48 set back in February of 2016.

Alexander Kolesnikoff, Men's Track & Field, Junior, Economics
In this weekend's Beantown Challenge, Alexander Kolesnikoff obliterated the field in the shot put. Seizing the win on just his third throw, his monstrous mark of 19.05m (62'6") gave him a nearly two-meter margin of victory. His mark was enough to overtake the previous Harvard school record of 18.74m, set by Richard W. Benka '69 back in January of 1969. On the day, he set the record not once, but twice, reaching a mark of 19.05m on both his third and fifth tosses.
