CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With eyes on the program's 15th Beanpot title, No. 6/8 Harvard women's ice hockey (15-5-0, 12-3-0 ECAC Hockey) kicks off the 43rd Annual Women's Beanpot Tournament tomorrow (Feb. 1) at 4 p.m. vs. Boston University (10-9-4, 9-6-3 Hockey East).
This year's event is being hosted by Northeastern University and will be played inside Matthews Arena. Harvard and BU will be first to the ice, with Northeastern and Boston College to battle in the day's second semifinal.
Ticketed fans are welcome to attend. Proof of vaccination requirements and mask mandates are in place. The games can also be viewed live on NESN+ as well as on College Sports Live, free of charge.

What to Know
- Harvard has won 14 Beanpot titles all-time, second behind Northeastern (17). The program's last Beanpot triumph came back in 2015.
- The Crimson has an all-time record of 49-34-2 in Beanpot. Harvard is 28-14-1 in the tournament's opening round, 7-5-1 in the consolation game and 14-15-0 in the Championship.
- Harvard is 26-13-2 vs. the Terriers all-time including an 18-4-1 mark in the Beanpot. BU has taken the last three meetings between the programs overall and the last two in Beanpot play.
- Harvard and Boston University have faced five common opponents this season. (UNH, RPI, Union, Yale and Boston College). The Crimson are 5-1 in these games, with its lone loss coming on the road at Yale, while the Terriers are a combined 4-2-1, with wins against New Hampshire (two), Union and Boston College.
- The Crimson is 2-0 this season against Hockey East opponents beating both UNH and Boston College.
- Senior Courtney Correia leads the Terriers with 18 points and 10 goals on the season. Junior Julia Nearis has a team-high 11 assists. In net, senior Kate Stuart has gone 5-6-4 in 16 starts with a 2.13 GAA. Stuart was named to the National Goalie of the Year Award Watch List earlier this month.
- The Crimson was prevalent in the latest awards from ECAC Hockey, with Kristin Della Rovere taking home the Driscoll Skills & Skating Player of the Week and goaltender, Becky Dutton earning MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month honors. Della Rovere recorded four points (1G, 3A) in a single period the last time Harvard was on the ice, helping the Crimson to a 6-2 victory over No. 10/10 Clarkson. The junior has points in 16 of 20 games this season. For her part, Dutton posted a 6-1-0 record during the month of January with two shutouts and a 1.43 GAA. The senior is third in Division I with a .833 win percentage.
- Harvard has won its last six games overall, including three consecutive victories in matchups with ranked opponents. It is the program's first time with three-straight ranked wins since March of 2015, when it won four such matchups in succession. On the season, the Crimson is 5-4 against top-10 teams.
- Junior winger Anne Bloomer has been scorching the net of late, scoring seven goals in the team's last five games. Bloomer has raised her goals per game average to 0.75, good for second best in the country. The Chicago native has a team-high 15 goals this season thus far, already equaling her goal-output from her sophomore season back in 2019-20.
- The Crimson currently ranks fifth in Division I with 3.85 goals per game. Over its current six-game win streak, Harvard has scored a total of 26 goals.
- The final leg of the Beanpot will take place Feb. 8 and feature both the Championship and Consolation contests.
At the Helm:
Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, is in her 27th year at the helm of the women's hockey program. Prior to the 2021-22 season, Stone compiled a 494-253-54 record. During Summer 2021, Stone was named the recipient of USA Hockey's Distinguished Achievement Award, recognizing a U.S. citizen who has made hockey his or her profession, and has made outstanding contributions, on or off the ice, to the sport in America. No stranger to trailblazing in the sport, Stone was the first woman to be recognized for the award. Through her tenure at Harvard, Stone has coached six Patty Kazmaier Award winners, 24 All America selections, 13 Olympians and 11 NWHL/CWHL Draft picks. Her teams have won 11 Beanpot championships, seven ECAC Tournament titles and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 11 times.

Harvard looks to continue its nine-game ECAC Hockey win streak when it travels to Colgate and Cornell this Friday (Feb. 4) and Saturday (Feb. 5). Both games will begin at 2 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet internationally.
