HANOVER, N.H. – The Harvard women's volleyball team had its two-match winning streak stopped on Friday as it fell at Dartmouth in three sets, 28-30, 14-25, 14-25.
The Crimson (4-12; 3-5 Ivy League) and Big Green (13-5; 5-3 Ivy) opened the night by trading points in the first set. At one point, Harvard recorded three consecutive points to take an 18-16 lead, but could not hold on as Dartmouth edged the visitors, 30-28, to snatch the first set.
In the second, Harvard found itself tied at 2-2 only to have the Big Green post a kill and earn a sideout to move ahead and take a lead it would not relinquish, ultimately winning, 25-14. Later, Dartmouth opened the third frame by logging the first three points and never looked back in another 25-14 decision, earning the sweep.
Harvard Highlights
- Ava Rauser led all Harvard players with 10 kills, recording her second double-digit kill match of the season (11 vs. Yale).
- Bella Almanza had a team-high 15 assists and has now posted double-digit assists in 17 straight matches, dating to last season.
- Teia Piette led all players with 12 digs.
- Ariana White shared game-high honors with a career-high three solo blocks.
