Siofra Murdoch scored on a penalty stroke in overtime to lift No. 15 Harvard field hockey (12-4, 5-1 Ivy) to a 2-1 win over No. 24 Cornell (9-7, 3-3 Ivy) on Senior Day at Berylson Field.

In a scoreless opening quarter, Harvard goalkeeper
Ellie Shahbo (four saves) came up with a big save late in the frame on a chance off a Cornell penalty corner.
Shahbo slid off her line to stop a deflected shot and then helped clear away the rebound with just over a minute to play in the quarter.

Shahbo came up with another acrobatic save in the third quarter, diving to her right to stop a penalty corner shot off the stick of Claire Jones.
But Cornell would break through for a late third quarter goal to even up the score, as Claire Wolfe scored from the right side with 3:13 to play in the third to make it 1-1.
Harvard had two penalty corner chances in the fourth quarter but was unable to find the breakthrough score.
In overtime, first-year
Kitty Chapple cut through several Cornell defenders into the circle and was fouled on a clear scoring opportunity, giving Harvard a penalty stroke. Murdoch found the lower left corner of the net with 3:07 remaining in OT to give Harvard the victory.
