CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Soccer (7-1-2, 1-0-1 Ivy) put up a strong fight against the Boston University Terriers (7-6, 3-1 Patriot) but ended up with its first losing result of the season after a 1-0 finish.
The Crimson outshot the Terriers 27-2 in the contest but were not able to convert on its chances in the offensive third as BU picked up its first win against the Crimson since 2018.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams got off to a slow start, with the first shot on goal going to Hannah Bebar in the eighth minute of action
- BU struck first in the contest, taking a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute
- Harvard continued to push on the offensive end, outshooting BU 9-2 in the rest of the first half
- It was all Crimson in the second half, as Harvard outshot the Terriers 18-0 and 6-0 in shots on goal
- Harvard nearly had the equalizer at the 66' mark, putting three shots on net that were all saved by the BU keeper
- The best chance of the game came in the 85th minute when an Ainsley Ahmadian shot rang off the pipe
- At the final buzzer, Harvard outshot the Terriers 27-2, but suffered its first setback of the season

- The Crimson possessed the ball for 63-percent of the contest
- Harvard outshot the Terriers 27-2 and 9-1 in shots on goal
- Hannah Bebar led the team with five shot attempts and three shots on goal
- Ainsley Ahmadian and Hannah Griffin each had four shot attempts apiece
- Lara Schenk, Taylor Fasnacht, Smith Hunter and Hollyn Torres all played terrific on the backline, playing all 90 minutes and holding BU to just two shot attempts and shutting them down for a majority of the contest
- August Hunter also had a strong contest in the midfield, playing 48 minutes and putting two shots on net while chipping in on the defensive end
