HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard took an early lead just ten minutes into the action after Hannah Bebar scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season off a clean cross from Hannah Griffin.
  • Hollyn Torres extended the lead in the 32nd minute after stealing the ball from Cornell and firing off a shot into the bottom right corner.
  • Sophie Hirst scored the final goal of the first half, a strike that was set up by Megan Mackey and Audrey Francois.
  • The defensive unit of Lara Schenk, Smith Hunter, Taylor Fasnacht and Jordan Di Verniero all played strong in the first half, allowing only one shot to the Big Red.
  • The Crimson kept moving in the second half, scoring a goal just two minutes into the frame. This time, it was Audrey Francois who netted the tally for Harvard
  • Just five minutes later, Hannah Griffin looked for Audrey Francois deep in the offensive third. Cornell got to Griffin's pass first, but the clearance attempt was deflected into the net as Cornell scored a rare own goal.
  • Reserves August Hunter, Sydney Farnham and Hildur Hakkonadottir all subbed in and played strong defense in the final 20 minutes for Harvard
