Harvard Women’s Rugby Set To Play in NIRA Semifinals On Home Field

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard Women's Rugby will host Army for the NIRA Championship semifinal game. The second-seed Crimson (5-2) will take on the third-seed West Point Black Nights on Saturday, Nov. 12, on Mignone Field and will air on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Crimson will be looking for redemption in this semifinal matchup against Army after they beat the Crimson in the last minute of play in the last game of the regular season. 
  • This game serves as redemption for last year as well. Almost exactly a year ago on Nov. 13, The Crimson lost to Army and the chance to advance to the finals.
  • Harvard finished the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the NIRA with Army right behind at No. 3. 

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Crimson played seven matches during the regular season. Winning three games at home and three away, with only two losses both away. 
  • The Crimson almost went undefeated for the majority of the season until they lost against the No. 1 seed Dartmouth who remained undefeated for the whole season. 
  • Harvard was the second ranked team in point differential with 268 points.
  • This will be the Crimson's fifth appearance in the NIRA Championships. 
 

WHAT IS NEXT

This game will determine whether or not the Crimson will advance to the NIRA Championship Finals.
