Carroll, Ward Earn Harvard Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by COOP

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Women's track and field junior Alana Carroll and men's track and field sophomore Lance Ward have earned Harvard Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week presented by The Harvard COOP for the week of Feb. 7-13, Harvard announced on Wednesday.

Competing down at Clemson in the Tiger Paw Invitational, junior Alana Carroll set the second-best mark in Harvard school history in women's pole vault at 4.04m. This comes just a week after Carroll set a new Harvard school record in the event at 4.11m.
 
Lance Ward, Men's Track and Field, Sophomore, Neuroscience
Lining up against athletes from schools such as No. 4 Georgia, No. 2 North Carolina A&T, and No. 1 Texas, sophomore Lance Ward represented Harvard in the men's 200m at the Tiger Paw Invitational finishing with a time of 21.28 seconds for 27th place in a field of 80 competitors and setting a new Harvard school record in the event previously held by Olympian Chris Lambert '03. Ward also anchored a 4x400m relay quartet that broke the Harvard school record with a new top time of 3:09.36.
