LEWISBURG, PA. – Jaiden Miller scored the game-winning goal in overtime as No. 19 Harvard women's water polo bested No. 25 Bucknell (6-5, 2-4 CWPA) 8-7. The Crimson extends its winning streak to ten games and improves to (12-1, 3-0 CWPA) on the season.
Zoe Banks drew her third consecutive start in goal this weekend for the Crimson, as Harvard had a 3-0 CWPA weekend on its mind heading into Sunday's tilt.
Brooke Hourigan and
Borden Wahl got Harvard out to an early 2-0 lead, and an
Inde Halligan tally would eventually make it 3-1 through the first eight minutes. The teams would trade a pair of goals in the second frame, with
Ella Prentice getting on the scoresheet before Halligan netted her second to make it a 5-3 contest at the break.
The Bison continued to string together stops in the second half and was able to tie the game at five, midway through the third. The Crimson would answer through
Dany Zapata to retake the lead and held a 7-6 advantage through three. An early five-meter conversion for Bucknell tied the game at seven in the fourth, as both teams would dig in defensively and refuse to allow a goal for the remainder of regulation, forcing the overtime periods. Harvard was able to break through early in the first overtime, with
Jaiden Miller giving Harvard the vital lead. The Crimson was able to outlast the Bison and not allow a goal in the second overtime frame, maintaining its perfect conference record.

Harvard will return home to host the Harvard Invitational next weekend, Mar. 5-6. The Crimson will play a total of four games across the two days, beginning with No. 17 Indiana at 11:30 a.m. and No. 24 Brown at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harvard will then take on Mount St. Mary's (10:30 a.m.) and RV Cal State East Bay (2:15 p.m.) on Sunday, with all games across the weekend being streamed on ESPN+.
