Women’s Ice Hockey’s Della Rovere, Buckles Land on ECAC Hockey First-Team

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Harvard forward Kristin Della Rovere and defender Emma Buckles were honored by ECAC Hockey as First-Team All-League selections, it was announced on Monday.  
 
The nods to the league's top-team were the first of both players' collegiate careers. Della Rovere was a Third-Team All-League member her sophomore season in 2019-20, while Buckles was picked to the ECAC All-Rookie Team back in 2017-18. 
 
A native of Caledon East, Ontario, Della Rovere has set a new career-mark this year with 40 total points on 15 goals and 25 assists. The junior managed a 12-game point streak earlier this season, the longest by a Harvard skater since Jillian Dempsey had points in 30 straight during the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns In all, Della Rovere has tallied points in 25 of 32 games played this year, including a career-high four points in Harvard's 6-2 win vs. Clarkson on Jan. 28. 
 
Della Rovere was recognized by the league as the Driscoll Skating & Skills Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 30 and is also a finalist for ECAC Hockey's Best Forward award. She tallied her 100th career point by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime during game two of Harvard's ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series against Princeton. Her 29 points and 19 assists in conference play are tied for the third and fourth most, respectively, in ECAC Hockey. Della Rovere also led Harvard with 394 face-offs won, the fourth most in the league and 11th in all of Division I. 
 
The senior captain Buckles also raised her game this season, notching 17 points on seven goals and 10 helpers. The defender tied her career high in assists while setting new marks in both goals and points. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Buckles in a Finalist for ECAC Hockey's Best Defensemen award. She leads the team in +/- on the season at +23 and has anchored the Crimson defense on the top-pairing. 
 
In conference games, Buckles ranks first in the league among defenders in goals (seven) and third in +/- (+15).
