Jay Driver earned the save as Harvard University baseball defeated Cal Poly, 4-3, in game two on Saturday at Baggett Stadium after falling in game one of the doubleheader, 10-1.
Playing in games two and three of a four-game set, the Crimson (5-5) gained a 4-1 lead en route to the victory in game two after the host Mustangs (7-8) staked themselves to an 8-0 edge on their way to the win in game one.
Between the two games, Bravo went 4-for-7 with three doubles, junior
Will Jacobsen also finished 4-for-7, and sophomore
Chris Snopek posted a 5-for-10 effort with two RBIs. First-year
George Cooper notched his third home run of the season in game one.
Zinn tossed 6.0 innings in the win (2-1) in game two, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts. Driver threw 2.2 innings to gain the save (2), permitting no runs on one hit and no walks with four strikeouts.
In game two, the Crimson opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the first behind RBIs from Snopek and Bravo. After Cal Poly came within 2-1 with a run in the third, Harvard responded with a run in the fifth off another Snopek RBI and a run in the sixth off an RBI from junior
Hunter Baldwin. The hosts scored twice in the seventh before Driver closed the game.
In game one, Cal Poly plated eight runs between the first and sixth innings before Cooper's solo home run in the top of the seventh. The Mustangs added two more runs in the eighth.

- Senior right-handed pitcher Jaren Zinn threw 6.0 innings in the win (2-1) in game two, permitting just one run on four hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts.
- Sophomore reliever Jay Driver earned his second save of the season in the second game, hurling 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just one hit and no walks against four strikeouts.
- Junior right-hander Ian Buckner made his season debut in game one, tossing 2.0 innings of relief and giving up one run on one hit with one strikeout.
Game Notes
- Harvard totaled 23 hits over the doubleheader with 11 hits in game one and 12 hits in game two. The Crimson outhit the Mustangs, 23-17, across the two contests.
