Zoe Banks Earns CWPA Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – No. 22 Harvard women's water polo junior goalie Zoe Banks has received CWPA Defensive Player of the Week, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced today, March 17th. Banks led the Crimson with 17 saves in two starts across the weekend at the ASU Invitational II.

Banks, a native of Palo Alto, Calif., began the weekend with a five-save performance in a narrow one-goal defeat at No. 10 Arizona State, before saving 12 of 20 shots faced in the 20-8 victory over No. 25 Marist. The junior added a steal against the Red Foxes and has now recorded double-digit saves in six games this season. This marks the fourth career CWPA Defensive Player of the Week selection for Banks and second this season, after having collected the honor on March 4th following a nine-save shutout of Mount Saint Mary's.

The Crimson currently boasts a (16-4, 4-1 CWPA) record and will return to action on Saturday, Apr. 2 with a conference doubleheader against No. 7 Michigan and No. 19 Princeton.
