No. 15 Men’s Lacrosse Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win, Defeats Dartmouth 19-10

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Picking up its fifth-straight win, the No. 15 Harvard men's lacrosse team (6-1, 2-0 Ivy League) defeated Dartmouth (4-3, 0-1 Ivy League), 19-10, at Jordan Field this afternoon. With the win, the Crimson improves to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference action.
 
First-year Sam King set a new career-high six goals and nine points after adding three assists to his tally today. Senior Austin Madronic and junior Nick Loring each posted hat tricks, while sophomore Graham Blake and first-year Miles Botkiss notched two goals apiece. Sophomore Greg Campisi picked up a career-high eight groundballs to lead the Crimson. Senior Steven Cuccurullo and Madronic each recorded four. Senior Charlie Olmert, first-year Collin Bergstrom and junior Chase Yager all tallied a team-best two caused turnovers. Kyle Mullin made 10 saves in net to register a .500 save percentage.
 
Dartmouth struck first to start the game, before Harvard responded with a goal from Madronic to tie it up. The Big Green answered with three-straight goals, until Loring stopped their run with his first of the day. After another tally from Dartmouth, Loring put in his second-straight to make it a two-goal game at 5-3. King brought the Crimson within one to end the quarter trailing, 5-4.  
 
Hayden Cheek tied the game at five all to start the second quarter. Dartmouth took the lead back shortly after, before Harvard tied it once more off King's second goal. The Big Green found the back of the net again to regain their advantage at 7-6. King notched a hat trick to even the score, while Botkiss gave Harvard its first lead of the day at 8-7 to head into halftime.
 
After three minutes of scoreless play to start the third quarter, Dartmouth tied the game at 8-8. The Crimson dominated for the next four minutes of play, scoring four-straight goals from Blake, Madronic, Loring and Olmert, to increase its lead to 12-8. The Big Green halted Harvard's run, before King posted a hat trick to make it a 13-9 game as the Crimson concluded the quarter on a 5-1 run.
 
King posted his fifth goal to kick off the fourth quarter, while Blake registered his second of the game to put the Crimson up 15-9. After a Dartmouth goal, Harvard flurried in four-straight goals from King, Botkiss, Madronic and Andrew O'Berry to make it a 6-1 run for the Crimson. Harvard held the Big Green off the board for the remainder of the game, sealing a 19-10 victory.
