CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore
Lauren Bobowski hit an RBI single in the fifth to bring the Crimson within one run before Harvard University softball fell to Princeton University, 5-1, on Sunday afternoon at Soldiers Field in the series finale of the three-game set.

Completing its first home Ivy League series in over 1,000 days, the Crimson (9-13, 3-3 Ivy) pulled within 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth on Bobowski's RBI prior to the visiting Tigers (11-10, 5-1 Ivy) scoring three insurance runs in the top of the sixth.

Sophomore pitcher
Anna Reed tossed a complete-game 7.0 innings, permitting just two earned runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

For the series, junior
Allison Heffley hit .571 (4-for-7) with one run and four walks for a .727 on-base percentage, Bobowski went 4-for-10 (.400) with two runs and an RBI, and senior
Morgan Melito finished 3-for-9 (.333) with four RBIs and a triple.

In Sunday's series finale, after the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first off a home run from Adrienne Chang, Reed did not allow an earned run the rest of the way. The Crimson cut the margin in half in the top of the fifth as Bobowski sent a single up the middle, and junior
Kaitlin Lampson scored from second, evading the tag at home plate. The Tigers then plated three unearned runs in the top of the sixth to close the scoring.
Harvard Highlights
- Sophomore Lauren Bobowski tallied a hit and an RBI. She posted a hit in all three games of the series and extended her hitting streak to five games.
- Junior Allison Heffley reached base on a hit and a walk. She tallied hits in all three games of the set and moved her hit streak to four games. Heffley has hit .385 thus far in Ivy League play.
- Sophomore pitcher Anna Reed threw 7.0 innings, notching a complete game, while allowing five runs – two earned – on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Reed has tallied a 1.11 ERA thus far in Ivy play, allowing three earned runs over 19.0 innings.
- Senior Morgan Melito notched a hit. She paced the Crimson with four RBIs on the weekend. Melito leads the team with a .328 batting average and 15 RBIs on the year.
- Sophomore Molly Dickerson and junior Trina Hoang each added a hit while junior Kaitlin Lampson scored the Crimson's run.
