Sam King of Men’s Lacrosse Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – After a dominant week on the field, Sam King of the Harvard men's lacrosse team has been named this week's Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference this afternoon. After a dominant week on the field, Sam King of the Harvard men's lacrosse team has been named this week's Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference this afternoon. This marks King's first Ivy League weekly award accolade of his career.
 
An offense catalyst for the Crimson, King lead Harvard to back-to-back victories over No. 13 Boston University (13-10) and Dartmouth (19-10) last week. The first-year kicked off the week against the Terriers recording a career-high four goals and three caused turnovers. King then broke his career-high again after registering six goals and nine points against the Big Green. The Baltimore, Md. native added two groundballs and one caused turnover to his tally as well.
 
Starting in all seven games, King leads the Crimson offense in points with 32 off of 18 goals and 14 assists on the season. King ranks 10th in the conference in goals per game with 2.57 and third in assists with 2.00.
 
King and the No. 10 Crimson will be back in action this Saturday, April 2, hosting Colgate in its final nonconference match up of the season. Game time is set for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
