CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's rugby will compete in sevens for the first time since May 2019, as it plays host to Crimson 7s at Mignone Field on Saturday, April 2nd. The competitive field will feature Dartmouth, Army, Sacred Heart, Mount Saint Mary's, American International and West Chester vying for the title along with the Crimson. Games are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and run throughout the day with the championship matchup ultimately set for a 5:20 p.m. start. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

What to Know
- This marks the sixth-annual Crimson 7s that Harvard will play host to after holding the tournament in 2015-19. Harvard has tabbed a runner-up finish each season in the tournament.
- Harvard enjoyed a 6-1 regular season in the fall 15s campaign, receiving the #2 seed in the NIRA playoffs before falling to Army in the national semifinal.
- The top two seeds in Pool A & B will advance to the semifinal matchups, with the top seed in each pool playing the two seed in the opposite pool.
- Senior captains Cassidy Bargell and Emma Kearney will lead the Crimson in their final semester. Kearney tabbed All-NIRA First XV honors after touching down for nine tries in the fall while Bargell tallied eight tries in just four contests.
- The Crimson saw the trio PK Vincze, Kiani Akina & Nafanua Malietoa Fitisemanu breakout in the fall 15s season, each earning All-NIRA honors in their debut campaigns.
- Harvard last played a competitive 7s game on May 26, 2019 – marking a span of 1,042 days between games. A trio of Harvard classes (2023,2024,2025) will see its first sevens action with the program.

At the Helm
Mel Denham is in the midst of her fourth season (fifth year) at the helm of Harvard women's rugby. Last spring season (2019), she led the Crimson to its third-ever Ivy 7s championship at Mignone Field. Denham received the Ragatz Family Harvard Women's Coach of Excellence Award following her successful 2019-20 campaign which saw the program win its first-ever 15s national championship. She owns a 28-14 overall record in 7s play with the Crimson.

Harvard will travel to Providence, R.I., to compete in Brown 7s, hosted by Brown University on Sunday, April 10. Pools and schedules have yet to be released.
