Women's Lacrosse Wins Thriller Against Brown, 15-14, Earns Ivy Tournament Bid

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Grace Hulslander recorded a career high seven points (five goals, two assists), and sophomore Callie Hem added four goals and an assist, as Harvard women's lacrosse (7-7, 4-3 Ivy) rallied from a four-goal deficit to earn a 15-14 win over Brown (7-8, 3-4 Ivy) and clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
 
The Crimson earned its first bid to the league's postseason since 2017.
 
Hulslander added a team leading six draw controls and four ground balls, and sophomore goalie Chloe Provenzano made four saves.
 
Harvard got off to a flying start in the first quarter, as sophomore Callie Hem (two goals, assist) helped the Crimson build a 5-2 lead.
 
Brown responded with two early goals in the second period, but a three-goal run for the Crimson before the end of the half gave Harvard an 8-4 lead at the break.
 
The Bears scored eight unanswered goals to open the third quarter and held a 12-8 lead before Ilana Kofman took a pass from Hulslander and hit the top corner while falling over to her right at 1:17 to make it a three goal game heading into the fourth quarter.
 
The two teams traded goals to open the fourth quarter, and then Harvard mounted its comeback.
 
Hulslander cut in from the left side of the circle and fired a beautiful low to high shot into the net at 9:31 to make it 13-11. Then Charley Meier took a quick feed from Caroline Mullahy, cut in between several Brown defenders and scored at 8:03 to make it a one goal game.
 
After a Brown goal, Harvard scored twice in a span of :21 seconds with Hulslander (5:22) and Mullahy (5:01) finding the net to tie the game at 14-14.
 
Harvard then won another draw control, and earned a free position shot on the next possession. Hem scored on a run from straightaway at 4:11 to put the Crimson up for good.
