CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's volleyball team (10-12, 8-6 EIVA) was edged in five sets by the Golden Eagles of Charleston (W. Va.) tonight in the final home match of the season for the Crimson.
Harvard fought hard in each set but could not prevail for a second night in a row for a final result of 25-17, 22-25, 24-26, 25-13 and 11-15.
The Crimson honored its four seniors tonight in
Eric Li,
Campbell Schoenfeld,
Buddy Scott and
Jason Shen in their final game at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Campbell Schoenfeld and
Ethan Smith led the way offensively for the Crimson. Schoenfeld posted 17 kills and eight digs to go along with two service aces, two assists and a block, while Smith tallied 13 kills on a .476 hitting percentage with three service aces, two blocks and a dig.
Eric Li posted a career-high 16 digs on senior night and added six kills, three assists and a block.
Jason Shen recorded six digs and two assists on the night.
Ryan Hong posted a season-high 11 kills on a .318 hitting percentage with three blocks and an assist.
Kade McGovern racked up a season-high 12 kills on a .304 hitting percentage with two blocks, an assist and a service ace.
James Bardin had 46 assists and added six digs, three blocks and two kills.
Logan Shepherd chipped in a service ace.
Harvard Highlights
- The Crimson won the kill battle (61-49) for the second night in a row.
- Harvard hit at a season-high .857 clip in the fourth set.
