Football Announces Date Changes for Cornell, Princeton Games

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football has announced a pair of game date changes for the upcoming 2022 campaign. The Crimson is now slated to play at Cornell on Friday, Oct. 7, and will welcome Princeton on Friday, Oct. 21.

Both Ivy League games were moved up by one day to accommodate national television as the ESPN Family of Networks is set to air the games live. Specific TV arrangements and start times for both evening contests will be announced at a later date.

The Crimson is now slated to appear on the ESPN Family of Networks three times in 2022, with the annual Harvard-Yale contest joining the aforementioned games. The 138th playing of The Game is scheduled for Nov. 19, and will take place at Harvard Stadium for the first time since 2016.

Football season tickets are currently on sale at Tickets.GoCrimson.com with Harvard set to play five home games in '22. The Crimson will open the campaign on Sept. 16, when it welcomes Merrimack to Harvard Stadium for a 7 p.m. ET kick-off.

Harvard is coming off an 8-2 campaign in 2021, its first season since 2019. The eight wins were the program's most since 2015, and its 5-2 effort within the Ivy was one victory short of forcing a three-way tie atop the league standings. The Crimson, which led the FCS in rushing defense and finished in the top 10 in numerous statistical categories, ended the campaign by receiving votes in both major top-25 polls (STATS Perform/FCS Coaches) and enters 2022 ranked No. 22 in the HERO Sports FCS Preseason Top 25.
