CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Ahead of the 2022 Harvard Women's Soccer season opener, Hannah Bebar and Jade Rose were named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by the United Soccer Coaches. The duo makes up two of the five Ivy League nominees and make Harvard one of only 11 schools in the nation with two or more student-athletes on the list. 

The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

The 2022 Men's Hermann Trophy Watch List will be announced on Thursday, Aug. 25. Fifteen men's players and 15 women's players become Hermann Trophy semifinalists on Nov. 30 following completion of Division I All-America voting following the fall season. Then on Dec. 7, the top three players from a final round of voting are the 2021 finalists. The 2022 winner is revealed on Jan. 6, 2023, at a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.

A native of Naperville, Ill., Bebar garnered United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-America, Ivy League Rookie of the Year First Team All-Ivy, and First Team All-East Region honors this past fall. She ranked fifth nationally in assists per game (0.67) and 25^th in shots on goal per game (2.07). Bebar led the Ivy League in assists (10) and shots on goal per game (2.07), while ranking second in shots per game (3.33). She ranked second on the team and seventh in the Ivy League in points (20) behind five goals and 10 assists.
 
A native of Markham, Ontario, Rose earned First Team All-Ivy and First Team All-East Region honors in her rookie campaign. She played in and started 15 games as a center back, ranking second on the team in minutes played (1,309). Rose played 90 or more minutes in each of 12 games and tallied four points on two goals on the year. She helped the Crimson post six shutouts as a team on the season.
 
Bebar, Rose and the rest of the Crimson are set to begin their pursuit of another Ivy League Championship in just eight days when they kick off the 2022 season on August 26 at Central Connecticut State.
